Tiranga

Bharata,

A nation,

A piece of geography we tend to be associated with,

An emotion that connects Indians all over the world,

and

A concept for which our armed forces are willing to die for,

Associated with this concept is our flag,

beloved referred to as tiranga,

and then there is our national anthem,

which tends to bring goose bumps;

symbols which instill a feeling of pride,

connect us all beyond caste, region, religion and creed,

In this year,

When we are celebrating the 75th year of Independence,

not taking for granted the freedom to:

dream,

be courageous,

and

make mistakes, learn and evolve in life,

why not take a pledge of sorts to put in our efforts in making India into a:

strong

benevolent

and

prosperous nation,

to behave in a responsible manner,

aimed at spreading harmony,

demonstrating unity and inclusivity,

and in doing so,

aspiring to become a better person each day of our lives.

Jai Hind!

My Life-Your Life

Invariably we keep drawing these comparisons,

Be it the boy or girl next door,

or

Be it that successful colleague in our offices,

Be it the black sheep in the family,

or

Be it that wonderful cousin who has had it all in life,

Whatever be the reason for your kind of life,

Destiny

or

your own making,

We need to understand,

It has got to do nothing with any one else’,

One may want to get inspired,

One may want to draw a clue or two from others’,

But have your ever wondered,

What benefit it’s bringing to you?

Which brings back the memory of a song which became quite popular during it’s time,

It’s my life...and is unique in every sense of the word,

Why not just try and stick to that!

Doddajiva

Wondering what this could mean?

It refers to “big life” in Kannada.

Whether a person has had the chance to live life king/queen size.

Though here the king/queen is not gauged by what one has accumulated in life,

But by the very nature of the experiences one has had in their lifetime,

How exhaustive and expansive they have been,

and

How wonderfully lived each moment has been,

And if you are still wondering how this can be done,

Well,

It’s time to take a step back,

Revisit the very consciousness that is a part of each and everyone of us,

To,

Become cognizant of the way we conduct our lives,

Things we tend to prioritize and give importance to,

And give our life an opportunity to experience it all,

The only question being,

Are you ready to take a seat on this wonderful roller coaster of life?
