Life in Shorts!

Life, an interesting journey, where you get up everyday, do some chores, work to make some money and sleep at the end of the day to again get up the next day repeating the same.

And then there is this concept of life of how it should be or we would want it to be like.

Which has ingredients of partying, having some fun, going on tours etc etc.

Concept which gets its derivation from maybe looking at others and wishing for it.

What follows is whether one make efforts towards it or not depending on one’s beliefs in the attain ability of the desired scenario.

Even after making appropriate efforts, it maybe that one doesn’t end up getting the desired results because of let’s say destiny or it wasn’t meant to be.

If we get what we want we feel accomplished and get all the adulations from the society.

If we don’t get what we want we feel dejected, the expected respect from society doesn’t boost our egos.

Whatever the outcome or the result of the efforts, we tend to ponder a lot over things which might have no relation to us being feeling elated or not in the moment.

Life, of course is not black and white, yet its simple enough to be not made complicated.

A good start could be, before going to sleep, to look back at the moments which made one elated and happy during the course of the day.

And reflect upon why those moments were so precious to us.

Was it because of the accomplishments?

Was it the ego boosters derived from the respect you got from the society?

Was it because you were having some good meal in some nice restaurant?

Was it because you were spending some quality time with your friends or family?

Was it because of the work you did and felt happy cracking the Eureka code in your life?

Whatever it was, reflect and why not write about it every night!

Next morning, just a small reference you can make to decide for yourself the proportion of your time you would want to spend on what activity in life on a daily basis.

For time is limited for all of us. Why not use it to the fullest. What say!

व्यवहार, ज़िन्दगी का आधार

It’s said:

No matter how big you grow into,

No matter how wise you consider yourself,

No matter, how careful you are with maintaining public perception,

No matter, how hard you work on your personality,

The way you interact and behave with different stakeholders in your life, determines the real character of the individual,

Be it your wife whom you get to say good morning to each day of your life,

Be it your parents or siblings whom you get to talk to once in a while in this modern world,

Be it the driver who drops you to your office on each working day,

Be it the security guard, who tends to secure your life more than anyone else,

Be it the house maid, who makes your house functional each day,

Be it the office boy, who makes your stint in office comfortable,

Be it the colleagues and boss who tend to make you feel important,

Be it the grocery guy who tend to bring to your doorsteps the fruits of hard work of the farmers in our country,

or

Be it any random guy that you come across in this beautiful journey of life,

download

At every point in your life, you get to interact with innumerable people,

on whom: you may or may not consider yourself dependent on;

What qualifies as maturity, is being able to make that all important interaction:

Respectable,

Enjoyable,

Valuable,

and

Treating it as the very last interaction that you will ever get to do in your lifetime.

Not realizing that one day, it will all come to an end,

Be it your ego/persona,

Be it the luxury cars that you get to sit in or drive,

Be it the assets that you own or aspire to own,

All will vanish in thin air or ether as they refer it to as in Vedic texts.

How soon you realize this and work on that all important interaction is your choice!

Think Beyond till you have a Chance to!

I still cannot believe when I heard it for the first time,

Is it true? How did it happen? Are you sure? But he was perfectly alright! How could something happen to him of all people?”

I was shocked to the core to hear of the demise of a person, whom I had known since I first stepped into my hostel room in college, for he was a bhai not the brother from the same mother, not the dons with whom the word has found some sort of resonance, but one among a group of 5 freshers kept under the same student guide supposed to make our lives easy in college.

A gem of a person that he was, we were ragged on several occasions together, courtesy our student counselor. On numerous occasions, I remember having borrowed his notes to study overnight before the exams.

Though we didn’t keep much in touch, we took our own respective paths after college, yet it never occurred that it could end so soon for him, for death is the last thing a youngster tends to worry about, having graduated from the best of the best institutes in India looking with beaming eyes at a much desired career path.

And then, you cannot help but realize a very simple fact of life, that you are just a speck and that too a very small one in this cosmos, a thing which appeared by chance from somewhere, and one day, is bound to vaporize as if you weren’t there at all, taking away all the I’s and the Me’s and the ego that comes along with the same, with you.

Don’t you think we start to give too much of importance to this little self of ours? Don’t you think, we start taking the Me’s too seriously and making it the basis of all our actions? Don’t you think, all the accumulations be it the physical or the materialist ones that we have got so busy with, will not matter at all when the time comes?

Sometimes I wonder, the one chance that has been bestowed to all of us, as homo sapiens, why not live our lives as if there was no tomorrow, live it in the most compassionate and enthusiastic way that we can, be it doing good for others or committing towards that one thing that you really care about and which if implemented can do good not only for you but for every being on this planet.

For seriously guys, have seen it unfold in front of my eyes to a very talented and wonderful human being, kal ho na ho!

Make full use of this opportunity and think beyond, for if you don’t, and when the time comes, which might be as soon as the next moment for how do you know that you are getting up next morning, it would be too late to do anything about the same.

So give it a thought and do your best!
