Characters of the P Company: Four Bandars

Gandhiji had 3,

Here there are 4,

Just below the who’s who, in the hierarchy of things,

Kartik, the first,

Comes across as a laid back cool dude,

Whose aim in life is to be able to make things happen,

Speaks fondly of his earlier stints in the sector,

and

Is trying to live up to the expectations of all stakeholders in his life.

Salil, the second,

Is probably the best looking professional in town,

Likes to play sports and is always dressed well,

With an athletic body in hand,

he seems to have taken up a bashing role in the space,

considering he is the whole soul of the operations at hand,

Tries to act cool at times,

Only to realise that he has miles to go before he can come across as such.

Sriraj, the third,

Comes across as a nerdy guy,

Who seemed to have drunk the know how potion of what’s it’s all about,

Always seem to have a glow on his face,

One can’t help but wonder, whether it’s love or dove,

Abhi, the fourth,

Comes across as that mysterious guy,

Who somehow happened to be working in this space,

No one seems to know his credentials,

Speaks little, but when he does, it makes sense,

With a Yash like beard in KGF,

he tends to hold his side of the fort to make things happen.

No matter how different they are in their personalities,

One thing they all agree with is,

the sector is such, so better get used to it!

Characters of the P Company: Hasti

Once you hear this word Hasti in Hindi,

You generally tend to think of some celebrated personality,

Here,

Hasti is BM’s best friend in town,

Comes across as a cool dude,

Tends to get his beard done every other day,

Though in an economical manner,

An emotional guy to the core,

Is scared of proposing,

For he has a dreaded past, which he would want to let go,

Yet is unable to, for the very nature of the past,

His struggle in life is not just limited to being not able to propose,

He is at the beck and call of his hard task master,

Who tends to pull him away from the simple and not so simple pleasures of life.

Such is the core of the 2nd protagonist in this novel.

More to follow soon!

Raaz!

Secrets, we all have,

Deep down,

Somewhere,

We are threatened by them every now and then,

Fearing it might come out in the open,

Insecurity around which eats us all,

Not knowing how to deal with it,

And

In trying to hide these,

We create more secrets,

A never ending loop of sorts,

but what’s the way out? and is there one?

Well,

We fear our secrets,

for we are always looking for some kind of external validation,

an approval,

an image we are so concerned about,

a persona that we have invested all our life in,

yes, it’s not easy to just give it all up!

yes, it cannot happen in a day or two,

yes, we all need some kind of support,

and

yes, it all needs a belief to take that first step,

a belief which says,

it can be done,

and

slowly, we see ourselves getting rid of this fear,

to live a life of how it was meant to be,

free and fun!

The Chemistry Boy!

Did you hear the recent news of this Chemistry boy who committed suicide?

No?

Don’t tell me,

For there are hundreds and thousands waiting in the cue,

Oh, you didn’t know that?

Surprising enough,

For they exist in every nook and corner of our classrooms,

Kids,

Who are made to sit in every possible class they don’t enjoy,

Who are ridiculed for every answer they are not able to provide to their teachers,

Who is made to feel humiliated just because a kid sitting next to them has read that encyclopedia and let’s say has better memory,

And

Why would we even be concerned about this?

Isn’t every kid suppose to top that academic exam?

No matter

Whether they like studying or not!

Whether they have other interests in life!

Whether they would be much better off doing something else rather than mugging up a friend’s notes!

Are we as a society open enough to understand this?

That kids are not rats after all,

And

Hence there is no rat race here,

Can we let them be just kids?

Who are meant to spread joy through their vibrant persona,

Who are meant to fill our lives with laughter and enthusiasm,

Who are meant to be supported at every point in their lives,

As a generation,

If we let that chemistry hating boy to commit suicide every now and then,

We are indeed a waste of life,

The only question being,

Do we want to be one?

The need to Speak Up?

Imagine you are in a gathering full of people,

All kinds,

Few you know,

Few acquaintances,

Few wanna be’s,

And then there is you, the quintessential introvert,

Who speak up when spoken to,

Who doesn’t brag about anything and everything in this world,

Who don’t feel the constant need to be at the center of everything,

Yet

You are expected to,

Participate,

People come to you every time they see you,

Asking:

Are you alright?

Are you enjoying yourself?

Why don’t you join us?

And then you start questioning the very persona that you are?

Begin to have doubts if something is seriously wrong with you,

Feeling pressured into speaking something for the heck of it,

To feel accepted,

To demonstrate your existence,

And

Then you choose to just leave,

Wondering

Why can’t you be accepted as it is?

Why the world expects you to behave in a certain manner?

For such, let me tell you, it’s alright to just be,

For the need to speak shouldn’t be the guiding force in your life,

For acceptance is more beautiful than complying to some random norm,

For being different is what makes life so beautiful and worth living.

So be who you are,

For the world will come to cherish your being sooner or later.
